First thing’s first- what does art mean to me?
Art is my world. It’s a reason for waking up in the morning, and a bridge for people from different cultures and generations to come together. For me, painting is like breathing, in that it’s something I must do to live. My first encounter with art was at eight, taking a class at a recreational center in town. I remember loving it, and the teacher told my parents that I was going to be an artist someday… turns out she was right!
My work is a blend of abstracted realism, with many textured layers, vibrant color combinations wrapped in a balanced composition. I constantly experiment with different techniques and mediums to see where the artwork takes me, incorporating inspiration from a wide variety of sources. With the vibrant use of color in my work, I hope to bring joy and inspiration to the lives of others amidst all the sadness and chaos in the world.
